FontWild turns plain text into 16+ styled looks — bold, cursive, bubble, small caps, glitch and more — that you can copy and paste into your Instagram bio, TikTok caption, Discord name or game tag. Everything runs in your browser, it's completely free, and nothing you type is sent to a server.
What FontWild is
It's a set of single-purpose tools built around one idea: make styled text effortless. The fancy text generator shows every style at once; focused tools like the cursive, bold and small caps generators give you a single look; and platform pages like Instagram fonts and Discord fonts surface the styles that work best where you'll use them. Every tool has a one-tap copy button and a live preview.
How the fonts actually work
This is the important part, and it's not what most people expect: FontWild doesn't change your font. There's no font to install and nothing to download. Instead, each tool maps the letters you type to look-alike characters that already exist in Unicode — the global standard that assigns a unique number to every character, the same system that holds emoji and symbols.
So when you "make text bold," you're really swapping each normal letter for its bold Unicode twin (𝐀 instead of A) and similarly for script (𝓪), double-struck (𝔸) and the rest. Because the result is made of real characters rather than an image or a font file, it copies and pastes anywhere that accepts text. If you'd like the full plain-English version, the guide what is Unicode and why these fonts work walks through it.
Compatibility & accessibility caveats
Because these are characters rather than formatting, two honest caveats apply to every tool on the site:
- Compatibility. Styled Unicode renders on most modern apps, but a device that lacks a glyph for a particular character shows an empty box (▯) instead. The text is still correct — it just can't be drawn there. Common styles (bold, script, small caps) are the most reliable; rarer bubble, squared and glitch styles box out more often on older devices. Our guide on whether fancy fonts work everywhere covers this in detail.
- Accessibility. Screen readers and other assistive technology may read styled Unicode letter by letter, mispronounce it, or skip it entirely. Use fancy text for short display bits — a bio or display name — and keep links, instructions and anything important in plain text so everyone can read it.
Free & private
FontWild is free with no signup. All conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript, so the text you type is never sent to or stored on a server. See our privacy policy for the details, or get in touch with feedback.
